The Structural Welder is responsible for welding steel pipes and fittings, including their fabrication and installation. This position requires collaboration with engineers, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welding: Execute welds in various positions using methods such as GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW.
- Preparation: Clamp, hold, tack-weld, and adjust components to prepare them for welding.
- Quality & Safety: Monitor welding procedures, identify equipment issues, and ensure safe operations.
- Technical Skills: Read and interpret mechanical drawings, follow A.S.M.E. standards, and pass necessary welding tests (6G GTAW, 3G GMAW/FCAW).
- Additional Tasks: Operate welding tools and equipment; continuously enhance skills.
Education & Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Experience: Preferred 1-2 years of MIG and TIG welding experience.
- Certification: Must pass 6G GTAW on 2 SCH80 and 3G GMAW/FCAW tests on 1/2" plate.
Skills & Abilities:
