Field Technician Cable/Internet

Job description

Full Time position for Internet and Cable Technician. Candidate must be willing to learn different technologies, be a self-starter, take initiative, and do not have any problems working on his/her own.

Candidate must also have knowledge in other low voltage technologies, such as CAT5/6 wiring/termination, CCTV, VoIP, and access control. Work hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, but candidate must be willing to occasionally work after-hours to complete projects.

Requirements:

* Must show proof of COVID19 Vaccination

* Must be able to pass a criminal background test

* Must have excellent troubleshooting skills

* Professional appearance and demeanor

* Must possess the ability to document service calls, problem resolution, and customer satisfaction
* Installing and configuring routers and supporting connectivity for Cable and Wireless connections
* Hardware, software, and network troubleshooting and repair
* Hardware and software upgrades
* Experience pulling and terminating Cat5/Cat6 data cabling and Coax
* CCTV surveillance and DVR experience
* Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate with users
* Must be outgoing, organized, detailed-oriented, dependable, and flexible
* Must be willing to work early or late hours when needed

Skills:

• Excellent time management, planning and forward-thinking skills.
• Must possess good decision making skills, be very organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work unsupervised.

Physical and non IT requirements:
* Ability to respond to off-hour technical emergencies
* Ability to lift, carry, and move all components of user workstation, network, peripherals, and other equipment
* Working on ladders to install conduit, cameras, and other equipment
* Working with power tools, such as drills for mounting of CCTV, access control, and/or telephony equipment
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to hot, wet and/or humid conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years minimum low voltage technologies experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00/hr starting pay
