This position relies heavily on maintenance abilities, and the quality of work performed on the courts which directly affects the racquet pros, members and their guests' experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities: included, but not limited to:
§ Prepares the courts and the surrounding area for play in the mornings.
§ Responsible for inspecting all courts and for opening procedures, maintenance, repair and grooming.
§ Responsible for scrubbing, line and debris removal, cleaning, drying and general upkeep of clay courts, rolling and brushing of courts.
§ Make sure all surrounding areas are cleaned and maintained and daily opening procedures are followed according to the instructions of the Supervisor.
§ Responsible for any daily upkeep duties such as repair to the courts cleaning water coolers and replacing ice and water.
§ Communicate to the Director of Racquets any changes in court conditions.
§ Participate in the court resurfacing program in coordination with the supervisor’s schedule.
§ Sweeping and lining 8 tennis courts (using a golf cart).
§ Rolling the courts as needed.
§ Power washing the walkways as needed.
§ Restaging the tennis court refreshment stations.
§ Vacuuming/cleaning inside the tennis shop as well as the patio area surrounding the tennis shop.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
o Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, some heating and cooling, painting, carpentry, etc.
o This position requires someone self-motivated with great attention to detail.
o Must have a valid driver’s license.
o Prior country club or court maintenance experience preferred.
o On the job training will be provided.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to excellence.
o Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
o Strong interpersonal skills, maintaining club culture, and professionalism.
o Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
o Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
o Must be dependable, organized, safety-minded, a self-starter able to work independently and as well as with a team.
o Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English, but bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
§ Ability to lift at 50 pounds.
§ While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be required to walk or stand or sit for long periods of time.
§ Must be able to bend, sit at a desk for long periods of time, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, reach with both arms without hindrance; ability to climb on step stool or ladder.
§ May be exposed to all types of weather (rain, heat, snow, cold, sun, etc.).
