What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal in community care giver position at Private Family?
Parents are seeking qualified applicants to provide community support services for our 21 year old son with Down Syndrome/Autism. Son graduated from high school on June 10th and want a start date as close to that as possible. Our son is able to use bathroom facilities independently, does not require help with feeding and has no major behavioral problems.
Ideal candidate would have previous experience helping individuals with special needs. Should be patient and passionate. Has a strong desire to help our son continue to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Transportation of various activities and supervision at activities when required
- Working with us to create an in community based program to continue our son's development
- Work on in home personal care improvements - teeth brushing, shaving, etc.
- Willing to be active with client. Going to the gym, walks at park, swimming, etc.
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Skills
- Experience with special needs individuals
- Knowledge of emergency response and basic first aid
- Respectful and compassionate
- Good time management skills
- Strong ethics
- Physical endurance
- Special education schooling a plus
All costs associated with son's care will be fully reimbursed, including mileage, food, admissions, memberships, etc.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
