Department Aircraft Maintenance

Summary/Objective:

The DOM / Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the business location, along with a strong focus on aircraft maintenance operations within the organization. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of aviation regulations, technical expertise, facility maintenance, basic accounting, and strong leadership skills to manage employees effectively. The DOM / Operations Manager ensures that all aircraft under their responsibility are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and airworthiness.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the organization's overall objectives.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures to achieve financial objectives.
  • Manage resources such as finances, personnel, facilities, equipment, and materials effectively to ensure smooth operations.
  • Establish and communicate performance goals and objectives for operational teams, monitoring performance, and providing feedback and coaching as necessary.
  • Provide leadership and direction to operational teams, motivating employees, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts and terminations.
  • Manage all aspects of aircraft maintenance and ensure all work is scheduled and performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Drive compliance with all regulations for aviation maintenance operations and inspection functions while ensuring regulatory changes are incorporated into company processes.
  • Ensure availability of materials, anticipating requirements and reordering in a cost effective and timely fashion.
  • Review and preparation of completed work packages for billing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned to help Pro Star Aviation attain corporate goals.

Required Education and Experience:

· Current FAA airframe and powerplant license

· 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance

· 3 years of supervisory or management experience

· High School diploma/GED

· Computer skills to include (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project), web-based applications, OEM technical publications

· Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-works, customers, vendors, and suppliers

· Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screening

· Hold a valid driver’s license

· Must be able to obtain an Airport Badge

Preferred Education and Experience:

· FAA Inspection Authorization certificate

· Bachelor’s degree or other advanced education

· Experience using Quantum Control ERP

Supervisory Responsibility: Direct supervisory responsibility including the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such actions.

Work Environment:
Works in a clean office space, free of noise, dust, and humidity.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. Occasional lifting of light items required. No specific vision requirements.

Objects weighing 70 pounds or more must be accompanied by a second individual to avoid injury.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
