SUMMARY
The Team Leader coordinates the movement of customers’ materials from suppliers through our Service Center Network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Liaison between Protrans and the LTL Carrier
- Provides Carrier Training on Protrans Standard Operating Procedures
- Prioritizes and control workload in and out of the facility to meet customer's transportation schedules.
- Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of reports regarding facility operations.
- Manages and coordinates pick up, receiving, and shipping of Protrans Freight
- Maintains a profitable and professional relationship with carriers. Looks for new opportunities for carrier development when possible.
- Works to improve safety record and looks for new opportunities to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensures carrier employees are trained to the level necessary to perform the essential functions of their job in a timely manner.
- Takes an active role in process improvements.
- Works with the Carrier and customer and resolves issues (may require limited travel).
- Maintains a professional environment that fosters team spirit while achieving customer demands. Assumes new team roles, shares relevant information, and conducts team meetings on a regular basis.
- Enforces operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of freight.
- Leads and directs the work of others, enhancing a team environment.
- Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.
- Manages the business according to Data and reports from BI Tools
- Ensures proper updating of Protrans TMS and communicates with carrier for pick up and deliveries.
- Collaborates with other Protrans Facilities by phone, email, and Microsoft Teams
- Document and Trouble shoots Overages, Shortages and Damages for root cause
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Three to five years experience in warehouse management in a medium sized warehouse operation. Prefer a degree in logistics and transportation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
This position requires the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English and Spanish.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The ability to apply statistical techniques to shipment and delivery data is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the physical ability to work on a computer for several hours at a time. There is also the need for filing, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting boxes up to 50 lbs. General upkeep is required of the personal work space and department area. It may be necessary to climb and descend stairs daily and evacuate the building quickly in case of emergency. Employees must be able to hear in order to perform their essential job functions.
