General Job Description:
In this position, the Quality Control Inspector performs assessment, documentation, and organizational tasks to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization?s outputs. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of ProAir manufactured and assembled product
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of supplier products
- Perform audits on production and assembly departments to ensure adherence to standards, procedures, and customer requirements
- Review blueprints and specifications to compare to produced and purchased product
- Record inspection results by completing measurement reports, First Article Inspection reports, nonconformity investigations
- Work with manufacturing and assembly departments to address product and process issues
- Audit and document audit results on product and processes as directed by Quality
- Monitor the use of measurement equipment to ensure correct measurement methodology and equipment usage
- Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training
- Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and quarantining equipment for repairs
- Work with line personnel on quality issues and objectives in support of Production leadership
- Complete Nonconformance Reports for defective products and materials
- Assist Leadership in physical control of nonconforming products and materials
- Communicate quality problems with QA and Production Leadership and fellow Quality staff
- Complete operational paperwork verifications as required (receiving, production, shipping)
- Complete shipment audits as required
- Work with the team to support improvements
Other Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent; Trade School, Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
- Minimum of 12 months of dimensional layout inspection experience
- Must be skilled at the use of calipers, micrometers, height gages, gage pins, tape measures, scales, angle blocks, protractors, radius gages, steel rules, etc.
- Skilled in blueprint reading
- General knowledge of Quality Assurance Procedures
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Be observant, detail-oriented, and operate in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to comprehend oral and written directions
- Excellent reading and math comprehension
