The Roll Packer functions under the direct supervision of the Process or Shift Team Lead. This position involves the wrapping of finished slit rolls and placing them on acceptable pallets. The Roll Packer works closely with Slitter Operators by moving materials, coordinating packing supplies, and giving assistance when needed.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made, upon request, to ensure individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Wrap and stack all finished slit rolls, in order to allow production employees to run machines with minimal down time
- Keep track of all packing supplies (e.g., boxes, roll cradles, and core plugs, etc.), and inform the Shipping Lead when reordering is necessary
- Load the wrapping station with proper supplies (e.g., boxes, core plugs, etc.)
- Assist Slitter Operators when able to do so
- Maintain work areas clean, assist with general housekeeping
- Operate bailer in a safe manner
- Assist slitter operators by cutting fiber and plastic cores
- Clean and deburr plastic cores
- Perform other duties as needed
