Probi USA manufactures a wide variety of probiotic products including bulk probiotic powders, capsules, tablets and bottled products. Our probiotics are fermented, harvested and frozen at our Redmond facility.
We are currently searching for a QA/QC Microbiologist II, to work in our Redmond, WA facility. This is a full-time position working a Monday thru Friday shift. Hours are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position applies subject matter knowledge of Biological Sciences to perform laboratory analyses in support of Probi’s quality standards. Responsible for performing basic Microbiology laboratory analyses including calibration, tracking, sample preparation and sample analysis. Plans and prioritizes analytical workload with other laboratory staff to ensure timely completion of results while maintaining a high-quality laboratory standard. Maintain qualification and calibration of laboratory equipment. Support senior staff with laboratory inventory, stability program, outside lab testing, and training new staff.
KEY DUTIES
- Review product release documents for all testing at the Redmond Laboratory.
- Assist with calibration of thermometers and hydrometers used throughout the facility and assist with qualification of laboratory equipment.
- Perform, assist, and lead special projects, OOS, OOT, and other investigations as assigned.
- Write SOPs for new methods, manage change control for revisions to current SOPs.
- Assist with analysis, documentation, and inventory for stability program.
- Assist with training of new staff.
- Assist with managing the laboratory inventory.
- Assist with management of outside lab testing.
- Perform microbiological and physical analyses and maintain records of analytical results in paper and electronic formats.
- Prepare product and material release documents.
- Manage environmental monitoring program.
- Review and revise lab SOPs.
- Maintain laboratory in a clean, organized manner including maintenance of media stocks, inventory control, glassware cleaning, and sanitation.
- Prepare media as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned
COMPANY/JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology/Biology or other related science with at least 2 years professional laboratory experience or; High school diploma/GED with 4 years of professional laboratory experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and converse in the English language.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
- Follow GMP, PPE, and company safety policies in performance of job duties.
- Perform other projects / duties as assigned.
- Maintain good attendance.
