Project Initiative Leader

Job Description

As the Start-Up Leader, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects and initiatives within the site. You will lead overall project planning and execution, and coordinate with all parties involved (SNO/Engineering/R&D/Manufacturing/...) to deliver each project's success criteria. The Start-Up Leader manages the 'operational readiness' of each project, including establishment of Autonomous/Preventive Maintenance standards, personnel staffing and training, and qualification execution. The Start-Up Leader is involved in projects at an early stage and represents the 'voice of manufacturing'. The key tools of the Global Start-Up Methodology (GSUM) program are used to drive project success and build project team capability.

Responsibilities

As the Start-Up Leader some of your essential duties and responsibilities may include:

• Developing and implementing the plan for a successful start-up of the initiative. This means that resources, success criteria, pre-production budget management, planning and processes are in order.
• Coordinating with the other functions (Engineering, R&D, MPO, QA, Operations, Logistics, etc.) to develop and integrate multi-functional plans, with the aim of ensuring a successful project start-up.
• Utilizing the appropriate GSUM processes and tools to drive project success.
• Participating in and leading vendor acceptance tests, development trials, and qualifications as necessary.
• Ensuring robust Autonomous/Preventive Maintenance standards are in place.
• Establishing and executing a comprehensive Technology Transfer & Training (TT&T) Plan.
• Representing the 'voice of manufacturing' (VoM).
• Preparing and managing the project Pre-Production (Start-up) budget.
  
  

Qualifications

You may fit well into this role if you:

• Have managerial experience in operations.
• Have experience with project start-up or are qualified as a Start-up Leader.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Have experience with manufacturing capability systems and standards.
• Have good written and oral communication skills, and can effectively influence and do work across organizational boundaries including with plant personnel, engineering, and quality assurance.
• Can effectively develop procedures and technical documents.
• Have experience in managing budgets (MOE, Capital, AEs, etc.).
• Can demonstrate project management skills and experience; project management certification a plus.

• A bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus on packaging, or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in industrial or consumer packaging or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
