POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Service Construction Manager for Air Handling/Material Handling is responsible for providing safety and operational leadership to the Air Handling/Material Handling (AH/MH) Construction group. He/She will assign teams to projects and support their efforts to ensure the best outcome for the customer and the company.
Applicant must be a great self-starter willing to endure long hours providing leadership to the department and technical support when needed to ensure the success of the group and the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Ability to lead in a fast-paced dynamic environment independently, and as part of a team, to meet customer and contract requirements.
Work with the Construction Management team to ensure jobs are properly staffed and equipped
Work closely with construction management and supervision to ensure quality workmanship.
Review all job write-ups for clarity and completeness.
Assign Supervisors to jobs based on skill set.
Work with the Field Service Estimating group as needed to develop quotes and execution plans.
Work with the Purchasing Department with identifying tooling and equipment needs.
Work with the engineering and manufacturing groups on constructability.
Manage budgets related to the AH/MH group
Work with the Technical group to identify training and quality areas of improvement.
Work with the sales team to ensure the project’s success from a commercial and customer satisfaction point of view.
Must be able to interact with customers and upper management to resolve issues or concerns.
Manage inputs into CrewConX
Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
Must be able to work/crawl/climb around the equipment as needed.
Ability to work long hours in possibly difficult conditions/extreme environments (heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, etc.)
Technical Requirements:
Must have advanced organizational skills.
Must understand different skill sets needed to be successful in the field.
Must have/acquire a technical understanding of the product lines serviced by the AH/MH Group
Must be able to communicate effectively (in person, by e-mail, and by telephone) while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
Proficient with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Must have advanced conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
Must have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Must be team-oriented and able to work as part of a construction management team with high expectations.
Valid driver’s license and transportation
Basic blueprint reading skills
Must have completed the OSHA 30 in Construction Safety & Health
