DESCRIPTION:
A member of the company’s Leadership Team. Responsible to manage the planning, organizing, and directing the Production, in the Mentor production facility. Direct all through a team of functional managers. Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the throughput of manpower, materials, and machines. This is a salary-exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the executive staff on strategic planning, developing operations, risk management and strong leadership to achieve corporate objectives and goals.
- Communicate to the Director of Operations in a timely manner on production matters that affect the corporation
- Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships
- Drive initiatives in the management team and organizationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence
- Management aspects of the company’s implementation of world-class methodologies
- Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the corporation that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation
- Effectively develop solutions to business challenges
- Design, implement, and manage processes to reduce lead time
- Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the organizational mission and to support better management reporting and information flow
- Manage policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing/TOC techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, plant performance measures, and continuous improvement in all areas of manufacturing
- Establish and utilize a fundamental, systemic approach to solving short and long term needs in support of operations.
- Identify and drive implementation of improvement projects
- Perform regular staff performance evaluations, approve compensation levels, and ensure employee development
- Develop, implement, and monitor annual manufacturing plan, including organizational structure, staffing and budgets
- Promote continuing education for group by leading by example through methods such as reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Adhere to budget responsibility in accordance with company objectives
- Protect company proprietary and confidential information in accordance with the company’s confidentiality policy
- Foster ethical and responsible decision making
- Carry out any other essential duties as may be assigned
COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and five years experience in a management-level position.
