What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheetmetal Estimator position at Procom?
Mechanical Estimator (Sheet metal/HVAC Duct)
Location: Raleigh, NC
Nature of Position: Direct Hire
General Duties:
- Estimate mechanical ductwork for a sheet metal fabrication shop using Trimble AutoBidSheetMetal software. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Follow up with clients to confirm orders and negotiate projects.
- Organize and maintain an in-house bid list.
- Read and understand blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Incorporate all project specifications into the estimate.
- Create and maintain organized files for all projects.
- Keep records of all bids and follow up with clients on a weekly basis.
- Interact with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Assist with pricing small call-in duct and custom fittings from clients.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Requirements:
- HVAC ductwork knowledge is preferred, but candidates who can read blueprints and are willing to learn will be considered.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ambitious with a strong desire to succeed.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Previous experience with Trimble AutoBidSheetMetal software.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
