Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls and Automation Engineer to join our team and support our client on-site. The ideal candidate will have experience with Siemens or Allen Bradley PLC or Wonderware SCADA in a life sciences environment. The candidate will be responsible for first response triaging, automation event reports, and automation change controls. Formal and on the job Emerson DeltaV training may be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the client's team to provide technical support for automation systems, including troubleshooting and identifying root cause analysis for system failures.
- Collaborate with the client's team to develop and implement automation change control procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and best practices in automation and control engineering.
- Review, evaluate, and approve automation-related documentation, including project plans, technical specifications, test protocols, and validation documents.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including client representatives, engineering teams, and vendors.
- Participate in project planning and execution, providing technical guidance and support to ensure project success.
- Manage the automation event report process, including triaging, escalation, and resolution of issues.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the automation systems, identifying and implementing opportunities for optimization and increased efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in controls and automation engineering in a life sciences environment.
- Experience with Siemens or Allen Bradley PLC or Wonderware SCADA systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong project management skills, including experience managing complex projects.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards, including FDA regulations and GAMP.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
