We’re looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join Procore’s Product & Technology Team. Procore software solutions aim to improve the lives of everyone in construction and the people within Product & Technology are the driving force behind our innovative, top-rated global platform. This Senior Backend Software Engineer role will be part of Procore’s AI Studio team. In this role, you’ll become an expert in our cloud services development and deployment pipelines. The primary goal of this role is to bring software lifecycle excellence to the Procore Copilot engineering team.
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you’ll partner with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build and maintain cloud services that fuel our AI infrastructure. You will use your backend development skills to deliver scalable, reliable, and reusable solutions. This is a great opportunity to join a high-energy and highly collaborative team that is building the future of construction software.
This position reports to the Director, Machine Learning and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based services and applications using AWS, Kubernetes, and machine learning platforms like Ray.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements, scope, and architecture for new features and enhancements
- Apply best practices and industry standards to ensure code quality, performance, security, and maintainability
- Review code, provide feedback, and learn from feedback provided to you
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across the entire stack
- Research and evaluate new technologies and tools to improve the engineering workflow and user experience
- Implement and follow the software development lifecycle (SDLC) using tools such as CircleCI, Argo, New Relic, Nobl9, and GitHub
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable work experience
- 5 years experience in Object-Oriented Program fundamentals, Test Driven Development and Design principles (Ruby on Rails, Python, C , Java)
- Experience designing and building software in a Service-Oriented Architecture
- Track record of anticipating technical problems that will fall out of major projects and designing solutions to overcome those problems
- Experience working on modern applications, languages, and frameworks (Ruby on Rails, React, Typescript)
- Strong experience documenting and bringing team clarity to complex solutions
- Expertise with modern web development across the entire spectrum of development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoring
- A curious mind that is driven to innovate and solve customer problems
Additional Information
Base Pay Range $156,400 - $215,050. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
