We are seeking a Revenue Transformation Principal. This role will play a pivotal role at the intersection of revenue accounting, systems design and configuration, product development, and sales operations. The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for providing Zuora and RevPro system and business requirements to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606, prioritizing and facilitating cross-functional team projects, managing external consultants, user acceptance testing, increasing adoption and training others for the system and process improvements, and participating in the product introduction process to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment and system requirements. This role will also involve the build-out of dashboards, and automation of core tasks for billings and revenue accounting, and partnering closely with the Global Revenue Accounting team and Finance Systems team to make continuing automation and improvements to the existing billings and revenue recognition processes and systems.
This role will report directly to the Senior Director, Technical Accounting, and will work in Carpinteria HQ, Austin, or remote. We're looking for a candidate to join us immediately.
What you'll do:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of revenue operations as well as the billings and revenue recognition processes, to assist in identifying process maturity gaps, and develop effective solution strategies.
Be the trusted partner and advisor in cross-functional collaboration in developing comprehensive solutions and project initiatives to drive system improvement and business outcomes.
Be the advocate of the Revenue Accounting team in cross-functional projects to define business requirements and proactively drive prioritization to support revenue operation and product development strategies and initiatives. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful system and process implementation and adoption.
Develop vision and strategy for future state best-in-class systems, processes and controls to support various product billing practices and revenue recognition compliance, and contribute to successful implementations and operational stability.
Provide and facilitate business prioritization across teams if needed to drive consensus. Monitor and report on project performance during the implementation and on business outcomes after the implementation.
Participate in thought leadership for scalable quote-to-cash operational policies, processes, and systems strategies.
Design proper systems and operational internal controls that are in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and Influence operational teams to embrace and succeed in adopting new processes and controls.
Facilitate seamless communication across program projects, proactively identifying and addressing risks and opportunities for improvement and draft internal and external write papers with documentation about the business requirements and system improvements.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of ten years of experience in accounting and systems/business analysis.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, SQL and Tableau.
Systems experience with Zuora Billing and RevPro is required. System experience with Salesforce and NetSuite is a plus.
Deep working knowledge of quote-to-cash process and ASC 606 revenue recognition, including multiple element arrangement accounting, standalone selling price establishment, contract modification accounting, etc.
Excellent track record in designing and delivering revenue-related transformation projects, with a focus on creating value and driving business outcomes.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to communicate technical revenue issues in a business-like, non-technical manner is a basic requirement.
A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, obsessed with quality, and able to influence and build alignment and consensus across multiple functional teams.
Experience thinking strategically and working effectively across functions to resolve complex business problems and support sales operations and product development andexcellent time and project management skills - can coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a high-paced and dynamic business culture.
Base Pay Range $142,040 - $195,305. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
