Laborer / Equipment Operator

The Laborer / Equipment Operator performs a variety of duties and operates equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk of injury and property damage. The Laborer / Equipment Operator is mechanically inclined and adheres to the guidelines set forth by management. This position will start as general labor and may transition into increased responsibilities as an equipment operator.

Job Functions:

• After training, operate equipment: Compact Track Loader (CTL), Load Haul Dump Machine (LHD), Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV), Scissor Lift, Walk Behind Skid Steer and Locomotive.
• Support testing and validation efforts.
• Participates in customer demonstrations.
• Support Dealer & Customer Mechanic Training.
• Support facilities engineering activities.
• Facility and vehicle maintenance, including maintaining roads and general inspections and repairs.
• Follow safety regulations; keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly to facility standards.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Most qualified candidates will have experience in construction, general maintenance / mechanics.
• Demonstrated proficiencies in a wide variety of tasks.
• General knowledge of machinery, specifically related to areas of responsibility.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.

• Manual dexterity; Use fingers and hands to feel, handle, or squeeze; reach with hands and arms; twist/turn body; perform repetitive motions.

Work Environment

• Work regularly occurs in an underground environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Lead, SD: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (Preferred)
