Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Waterloo, Iowa. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will schedule iron flow from charge material to liquid metal while supervising a team of individuals.

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

Duties:

• Perform ductile and gray iron recipe and chemistry calculations
• Manage the iron flow from melting iron in coreless furnaces, holding iron in induction furnaces and then pouring into molds via vertical channel pouring furnaces or pouring cars
• Execute strategic department initiatives, weekly schedules, and daily plans
• Manage employees and keep them accountable for their actions regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Efficiency

Requirements:

• Excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment
• Experience with, or supporting, shop floor manufacturing and/or warehouse operation
• Demonstrated team leadership skills
• Experience communicating across functions (such as: supply management, engineering, operations, and human resources)
• Ability and flexibility to work across variable shifts based on production needs

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with continuous improvement pay plans (CIPP)
• Experience with wage/union employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules
• Experience in leadership or supervision of a union workforce
• Working knowledge of the CI continual improvement process and 5S
• 3 or more years of experience in a coreless melt furnace, preferably with medium frequency furnaces
• Experience in induction furnaces
• Experience with refractory related practices in an iron foundry
• Chemistry control experience in a gray and ductile iron foundry
• Bachelor's degree in Metal Casting, Business, or similar discipline,or four or more years' relevant work experience
