Substance Use Disorder Family Support Specialist
Are you looking for a flexible social work position that only requires a portion of your work week to be in person? PCC would love to have you fill our full time position in our exciting, new Substance Use Disorder Program! You will be working throughout the Thumb region with the goal of keeping your caseload close to your specific geographic location, providing support and education to families with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
A Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field (master's preferred) is required, with a major in : social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer / community services, family studies, family and / or child development, guidance / school counseling, counseling psychology, or criminal justice.
Within three months of hire you will begin your journey to become a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) by creating a Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) approved development plan.
You will provide face to face counseling to families through motivational interviewing and assist clients as they move toward sobriety, increasing their stability through skill based interventions, educating on substance use topics, and reducing overall risk in the home.
You will be responsible for preparing reports within the appropriate time frames, and case records. You will work with your clients to create a work schedule that fits your lifestyle, as this position is truly flexible!
This role requires you to have a reliable vehicle and a license (mileage reimbursement monthly), flexibility in scheduling, and availability to work occasional evening hours.
In this position you could complete roughly 50% of your work away from the office and would be eligible for many competitive benefits.
