We are seeking a motivated and organized medical assistant to join a fast-paced allergy clinic. You will play a vital role in assisting the allergist with patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
Responsibilities:
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

- Greet patients and prepare examination rooms.
- Take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
- Update patient medical histories.
- Assist the allergist during examinations.
- Prepare allergy medications and injections by measuring out doses prior to administering to patients.
- Administer allergy skin tests and monitor for reactions.
- Provide patient education on allergy management, medications, and avoidance strategies.
- Collect blood or skin prick test samples for allergy testing.
- Maintain treatment room with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness.
- Maintain and ensure the sterility of medical equipment.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR).
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Keep the clinic clean and organized.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) strongly preferred, but candidates with a combination of 5 years of relevant experience and education will also be considered.
- 3 years of experience in a medical assisting role is required but if you are not a certified or registered MA you will need 5 years of experience.
- Experience in allergy practice a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in computer skills and EMR software.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Must read, write, and speak in English & Spanish.
