Facilities and Maintenance Manager
Job Purpose
To manage and maintain all the facilities of Lazy Weekends Landscaping to support the efficient and smooth running of daily operations. Facilities include the building, the grounds that Lazy Weekends utilizes, and all the equipment therein. The objective of this job is to have our facilities organized in such a way as to help maximize the company’s profits. Clean, neat, well maintained, and well-organized facilities promote a company culture that will help achieve the objective.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Vehicles and Equipment Repairs and Maintenance
- Keep all vehicles serviced at least every 3,000 miles and make repairs where necessary.
- Keep all equipment serviced according to the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals.
- Keep a stock of commonly needed parts for all vehicles and equipment.
- Keep a backup of equipment for replacements.
- Respond to breakdowns.
2. Workshop and Main Office Building Maintenance
- Keep buildings clean, tidy, and organized at all times.
- Tools, parts, landscape materials, and equipment are to be kept in their place when not in use or not being worked on.
- Monitor trash and organize trash disposal.
3. Yard Maintenance
- Daily patrols to check for trash, debris, and anything else out of place.
- Check nursery to be sure no plants have fallen.
- Monitor vehicles, trailers, and equipment daily to ensure everything is in place.
- Inspect compost pile daily for unwanted trash.
- Frequent disposal of pallets and other trash.
4. Crews
- Regular (at least once a week) monitoring of crew rigs to check that everything is working and that each crew has its complete list of required inventory.
- Daily checks that each crew’s rig is tidy and free of the trash.
- Provide monthly safety reviews and training.
- Organize fueling of vehicles and equipment and keep records.
- Keep crews supplied with chemicals.
5. Office
- Keep records of all repairs and maintenance.
- Keep checklists for vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Keep a parts and materials inventory list and a vendor list for all inventory.
- Keep an updated vehicle and equipment list.
- Monitor trucks using the Tracking Software and apply appropriate measures to maximize efficiency (routing, idling, speed, diversions). Check signals.
- Arrange facility to be secured every night.
