Position Summary:
Are you passionate about aiding in the total rehabilitation needs of patients? We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Southwest Physical and Sports Therapy. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining quality care in compliance with physician orders and APTA guidelines, assisting the physical therapist in complex procedures, and performing treatments according to established programs. You'll play a crucial role in observing, recording, and reporting patient conditions to ensure the highest level of care.
Responsibilities:
● Treat patients as referred by the physician, following established care plans.
● Record patient progress in charts and report orally to the physical therapist.
● Assist the physical therapist as needed during treatments.
● Report any changes in patient condition or progress to the physical therapist.
● Participate in providing learning experiences for physical therapist assistant students.
● Comply with safety, infection control, and universal precautions policies.
● Coordinate physical therapy objectives with nursing services when necessary.
● Maintain proficiency in clerical duties.
Qualifications:
● License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of New Mexico.
● One- or two-years’ experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
● Knowledge of physical therapy procedures.
● Ability to learn new procedures and techniques.
