Seniors Program, San Francisco
The Seniors program includes Rypins House, a 6-bed transitional residential treatment program located in San Francisco’s Mission District, Carroll House, a 6-bed residential treatment located in Bernal Heights and Rypins House Day Treatment, a day treatment program for Seniors Program clients and older adult consumers from the community. Rypins House has been provided by the agency under a contract with the City and County since 1980 and Carroll House since 1979. This program provides services to adults over age 60. This transitional residential treatment program for seniors is the only rehabilitation and recovery-based 24-hour alternative to institutional treatment, or jail, that is designed to meet the needs of behavioral health clients over age 60 in San Francisco.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Assistant Director supervises staff of the two unique adult psychiatric transitional residential treatment program. The Assistant Director manages the flow of clients into and out of the program. Specific functions are outlined in the job description.
Generally, Assistant Director Duties Include:
Promoting the philosophy of social rehabilitation as it applies to residential treatment; developing and maintaining good working relationships with client referral sources and other related mental health programs; reviewing all charts and client records; assisting in staff training; coordinating the staff schedule and coordinating the collection of client data. Maintain computer requirements of the City and County of San Francisco Community Behavioral Health Services. In addition, the Assistant Director advocates for and participates in the maintenance of the facility and performs all duties of the Counselor position as necessary and appropriate.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in a mental health Related field. Licensed in a mental health related field, OR Associate Clinical Social Worker, or Marriage and Family therapist Registered Intern is strongly preferred.
AA in any field 6 years experience in any mental health related field
BA in any field 4 years experience in any mental health related field
MA in any field 2 years experience in any mental health related field
MHRS Certification required for this position.
Specific experience in residential treatment and/or knowledge of social rehabilitation is preferred. Must demonstrate strong clinical, organizational, and leadership skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, clients and other providers both orally and in writing. Basic word processing skills. Must demonstrate an acceptable level of maturity, good judgment and emotional stability. Must be able to negotiate several flights of stairs and lift and carry 20lb packages multiple times during each work shift. Must maintain a valid California Driver's License, and must be insurable under the agency's current auto insurance polices.
