Summary of Position
The Teller receives and pays out money, as well as accurately keeps records of money and negotiable instruments involved in banking transactions. The teller meets the needs of customers by providing quality service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Accepts checks for cashing, accepts deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, makes change, issues receipts and pays withdrawals.
Processes night deposits under dual control.
Maintains proper cash level in drawers and keeps cash secure.
Balances drawers at the end of the shift by being consistent with the bank guidelines and procedures, meets goals for outages/transactions based on the balancing guidelines.
Adheres to regulatory guideline and reporting procedures (including but not limited to Reg.CC and BSA reporting guideline as they apply to the teller function.)
Maintains confidentiality of customer accounts and keeps cash and computer system secure.
Issues hold on checks, as necessary.
Follows all bank policies and procedures. Ensures work station is clean, neat and properly stocked.
Promotes bank products and services.
Performs other tasks as requested by the supervisor as they relate to the branch function.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under supervision of the branch Teller Supervisor or Service Center Manager
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma
Previous cashing handling and customer service
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prioritize and make on-the spot decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing customer satisfaction issues with the banks exposure to loss or fraud.
In-depth knowledge of all bank products, procedures and federal regulations relating to the teller function.
Working knowledge of basic office equipment such as computer key board, fax and copy machine, multi-line telephone
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet time sensitive deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Proficient in use of basic computer software.
Ability to maintain composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger avoiding aggressive behavior, even in a very difficult situation.
Ability to adhere to the banks Code of Ethics.
Ability to work a flexible schedule on a weekly basis which includes opening and closing the branch
and working on Saturday as scheduled.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, fax machines and Branch capture equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
