Property Catastrophe Field Adjuster

Join Forbes’ 2023 Best Employer for Diversity! As a field catastrophe (CAT) claims adjuster on our Home & Property team, you’ll manage the coverage and damage analysis of residential claims. Handling claims from start to finish you’ll support customer needs while ensuring swift resolution. You’ll also use strong negotiation and customer service skills to interact with customers, insurance carriers and others. Bring your field adjusting experience and we’ll offer the confidence and stability that come from working with a successful and growing organization. This position requires frequent travel across the country. You can work from home when not traveling. Only accepting applicants in the eastern or central time zone. You will also be required to lift heavy equipment up to 50 lbs. as well as climbing and walking on 6/12 pitch roofs. Duties & responsibilities - Determines insurance coverage and extent of company's liability - Inspects, scopes, approves, and adjusts estimates of damage, as well as determines loss amounts - Prepares report of findings and negotiates settlement Must-have qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of one year of claims handling experience - Instead of the above, an associate degree and a minimum of three years related work experience, at least one year of which must be in claims handling - Instead of a degree, a minimum of five years related work experience, at least one year of which must be in claims handling - Valid driver's license and auto insurance Preferred skills - Strong working knowledge of Xactimate - Homeowners policy experience - One or more years of property claims handling experience - One or more years of field experience Compensation - $61,000 - $72,000/year depending on candidate experience - Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance - Deployment pay is also available during catastrophe extended hour events Benefits - 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 6% - Medical, dental & vision, including free preventative care - Wellness & mental health programs - Health care flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, & life insurance - Paid time off, including volunteer time off - Paid & unpaid sick leave where applicable, as well as short & long-term disability - Parental & family leave; military leave & pay - Diverse, inclusive & welcoming culture with Employee Resource Groups - Career development & tuition assistance Energage recognizes Progressive as a 2023 Top Workplace for: Innovation, Purposes & Values, Work-Life Flexibility, Compensation & Benefits, and Leadership.
