JOB DESCRIPTION
The Budtender is responsible for educating customers and patients, answering questions, suggesting and upselling products, handling products, showcasing products being sold and completing transactions with customers. As a member of the dispensary team, the Budtender is responsible for customer service, opening and closing procedures, running a cash drawer and facilities management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential job functions or duties of this position are as follows:

- Performs daily pre-opening procedures as directed by Employer.
- Ensures all cannabis products are sufficiently stocked and displayed correctly per Employer procedures.
- Turns on computers and peripherals. Verifies operation and functionality of computers and peripherals before opening the store.
- Opens storefront per Employer procedures.
- Checks customers into the store per Employer procedures and serves as first point of contact and reference for customers.
- Greets patients and assists them in understanding the products and filling their orders. Provides excellent customer service to each and every guest.
- Educates and assists co-workers as necessary as it relates to Employer procedures, product knowledge and customer service.
- Operates a register and is responsible for accurate transactions, cash balances and associated duties.
- Performs end-of-day store cleanup per company procedures, store closure and security checks.
- Takes phone orders, assists with curbside delivery and other duties as assigned.
- Handles and transports medical cannabis and CDPs in accordance with Employer policies and procedures and applicable legal standards.
- Maintains any personal certifications or licensures that are required by the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
The Budtender should possess the following qualifications and skills:
● Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service. Cannabis industry preferred, but not required.
● Working knowledge of the cannabis industry, products, and associated federal, state and local laws and regulations.
● Trustworthy and reliable. A problem solver with strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Must possess a strong work ethic and be a team player.
● Thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment.
● Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.
● No disqualifying criminal convictions. Ability to pass a background check.
● Knowledge of federal and state patient confidentiality laws and regulations.
● Knowledge of food safety and CDP production hygiene standards.
