Project 180 is a leader in the forensic treatment space, offering high-quality, specialized treatment programs that serve thousands of justice-involved individuals. Our programs span criminal justice intercepts and include pre-arrest interventions, court-based diversions, jail in-reach, and intensive post-release services. Project 180 operates in partnership with County agencies including the Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Department of Health Services (DHS), and the Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD).
 

The Program
RDP is a County-operated program that diverts criminal defendants out of the criminal legal system at the early stages of the court process. The program provides in-court mental health evaluation, linkage to treatment services, and case management support to participants, whose criminal case is dismissed upon successful program completion. 

The Position
Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, is responsible for but not limited to planning, facilitating, implementing, and coordinating case management services to adults in a diversion program.

Essential Functions

• Provide individual case management services for clients in a diversion program including exploring and providing linkages to community resources, transportation to access linkages, and conducting weekly case management sessions with clients
• Pick clients up from LA county jail
• Interface with mental health (MH) and substance abuse (SUD) treatment providers to collect  court progress reports on clients’ adherence to treatment recommendations and services
• Write court progress reports on clients’ adherence to treatment recommendations and services when they are not received directly from the MH or SUD provider
• Track court dates and submit court progress reports by stated deadlines
• Provide court date reminders and transportation for court appearances
• Coordinate services with various public and private community health, mental health, and social service agencies to ensure appropriate services for clients
• Enter weekly case notes by stated deadlines for client and provider contacts in records management system; maintain updated client files
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary multi-agency team with flexibility and a spirit of collaboration, including attending weekly case conference meetings
• Regular attendance required
• Overtime, holiday, or weekend work may be required
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Supervisor or Program Manager

Secondary Functions

• Provide consultation to agencies and constituents of the community as appropriate
• Assist with other program activities as assigned by direct supervisor or program manager

Minimum Qualifications

• Verification of employment eligibility and background check
• Must have own transportation, valid California Driver License, and proof of automobile insurance coverage
• Must not be on any type of legal supervision (probation or parole)
• Maintain and uphold agency mission statement, values, policies, procedures, and principles

Non-Essential Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in mental health related field from an accredited college or university, preferred
• One year of direct service experience in a mental/behavioral health setting which has an interdisciplinary team approach, preferred

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $48,700 - $59,100, depending on experience

Environmental Conditions

Job duties are to be performed both in the office and field settings.

Physical Requirements 

The employee is expected to drive, sit, stand, walk, carry a maximum of 20lbs, listen, and speak in order to complete job requirements.

Mental Requirements

The employee must be able to manage the following: constant distractions, interruptions, uncontrollable changes in priorities and work schedules; be able to process information, think, and conceptualize.
