PMA is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Project Manager with 3 years of real estate, design, and construction industry experience for our Orlando office. Our Assistant Project Managers support the Project Managers and collaborate with clients and project teams throughout the project and development management process.
Experience and Education
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning or Business Management
- 3 years of related experience and a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of construction documentation and sequencing as well as a practical knowledge of alternate materials/methods, construction costs, value‐engineering techniques, and building/occupancy laws and lease requirements

- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of project controls, project management, construction documentation, and sequencing
- Exhibit working knowledge of alternate materials/methods; construction costs, value-engineering techniques, and building/occupancy laws and lease requirements
- Demonstrate skills in managing successful projects; meet or exceed client expectations and timelines
- Maintain professionalism in the face of deadlines; exhibit exceptional listening, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; and handle confidential information with discretion and trustworthiness
- Possess excellent time management, communication, organization, and personal effectiveness skills, as well as technical computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Project) and web-based project management tools. Proficiency in AutoCAD is desired, but not required
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and completion of project specific tasks as required to meet or exceed the expectations of the client and fulfill our contractual obligations
- Assist with planning and analysis of conceptual design issues and pre-construction activities
- Coordinate and review the development of architectural and engineering construction drawings and bid documents
- Review, understand and enforce contractual requirements for design and construction professionals; assist project management staff in generating contracts and addenda
- Serve as liaison between client and design and construction professionals
- Understand the building permit process and support the design and construction professionals in securing the permit
- Meet with contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants to review the project status and resolve issues
- Maintain and follow‐up on project open item lists
- Direct and/or document project meetings
- Review and analysis of potential changes to budget or schedule
- Monitor construction budget and schedule including updating and maintaining web-based project controls
- Observe and report on construction process and construction-related issues (field reports, job walks, etc.)
- Assemble and review materials for project draw packages
- Manage the project close out process to a successful completion
- Special projects as required
- Promote the highest level of professionalism and ethics
