At Project NOW, we are looking for individuals that are good with children to work as Assistant Teachers at one of our many Head Start locations. These individuals would work with teaching teams to plan and provide daily early childhood education programs. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with a teaching team to plan and provide early childhood education programs to Quad Cities children.
- Follows the proper procedures to maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
- Conducts site safety checks and daily child health checks.
- Assists with meal service, sanitation, and cleaning of the facility.
- Works with families to develop a list of community services and make all appropriate referrals.
- Provides parent training and educational experiences to parents and guardians.
- Maintains regular communication with parents and actively encourages parent participation.
- Takes a leadership role in the classroom in the absence of the Teacher.
- Creates weekly lesson plans.
- Assists in maintaining a classroom bulletin board.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Child Development Associate (CDC) Certification and 1 year of experience or 2 years of experience and must complete CDA
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
