At Project NOW, we are looking for an individual to become our next
Health & Nutrition Manager. This individual would be responsible for ensuring comprehensive medical, dental, and nutrition services are provided to all Head Start students and families. The Health & Nutrition Manager would provide and supervise the program's health and nutrition education curriculum.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership in a team environment.
- Tracks and ensures comprehensive medical, dental, and nutrition services are provided to all Head Start students and families.
- Maintains accurate documentation for child, family, and support services.
- Monitors and tracks the program's health & nutrition budget.
- Ensures that the program complies with various regulations.
- Assures families have the opportunity to be fully engaged in Head Start program activities.
- Serves as liaison to welfare, social service, and health agencies.
- Provides and supervises the health and nutrition education curriculum for children, parents, and staff.
- Facilitates and develops health plans for children who require special medical, dental, or nutrition services.
- Leads Health Services Advisory Committee quarterly.
- Develops and distributes a minimum of one newsletter to H.S.A.C. members annually.
- Arranges transportation (as needed) for appointments and referrals.
- Provides C.P.R. and First-Aid certification training and updates to staff as necessary.
- Completes observations of kitchen staff and meal service regularly.
- Addresses students' physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs and supports their achievement in the learning process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Health or related field
- R.N., L.P.N., or E.M.T. with at least five years of experience
- Previous experience in pediatric Health, Public Health, or Health preferred
- Three years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Requires minimum age of twenty-one (21) years to comply with regulations
- Must possess or acquire C.P.R. & First-Aid Instructor Certification within six (6) months, possess or acquire Vision and Hearing Screening Certification within six (6) months, and possess or acquire Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification within one (1) month of employment.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
