The Project TRIO Upward Bound program is sponsored by the US Department of Education and designed to provide academic support services, FAFSA and college access services to first generation, low income and/or students with an academic need. The summer component of the program will be conducted via a hybrid method: three weeks online and two weeks in-person at Jones College Prep High School (JCP). Please note, JCP is not affiliated with the our organization. We are only renting spaces from them for our summer program.
Our organization is looking for a fun, energetic and fluent Spanish instructor to join our team. We are looking for an instructor who is capable of teaching Spanish to high school students in creative ways (navigating traveling from one part of the city to another, creating recipes, storytelling, etc). If you are a self-starter, up to the challenging of engaging high school students, we encourage you to apply!
The successful candidate for this position must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Spanish or a Bachelor's degree in Education or English and fluently speak Spanish. Additionally, the successful candidate will work Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-12 pm; with one class being taught at 10 am and the second class at 11am. Additionally, the person who assumes this role will be responsible for creating lesson plans, assessments and student feedback.
Position operates on Mondays and Wednesdays from June 17-July 19th. The successful candidate must be available the entire time and must be available to teach in-person classes.
