Project Reach is a local non-profit preschool providing a caring learning environment for children to learn and grow. We are looking for a detail oriented, energetic person to serve as an administrative assistant to help with general office duties, reception and medical billing activities to support therapists and special education teachers providing services to children with disabilities.
This position is a full time school year calendar based position with some additional hours required in the summer (paid in addition to listed salary). Minimum hours worked per year are 1295. I) INTRODUCTION:
Under the general administrative supervision of the Program Coordinator, is responsible for providing general office duties, including typing, data entry, filing, and reception. Also responsible for assisting medical billing coordinator with billing and other clinic office duties.
II) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Perform reception duties, answer telephone and in-person inquiries, referral coordination and clinic scheduling, take messages and give general information about the program.
2) Provide administrative support for Early Intervention Staff, Clinic Staff, Fiscal Manager and Executive Director.
3) Maintain digital documentation and prep files for billing Medicaid/Insurance on an ongoing basis.
4) Create and maintain client files, general correspondence, and clerical support to the clinic, special education and day care staff.
5) Miscellaneous filing, typing, copying, and general office support.
6) Other duties as assigned.
III) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma and experience in office routines, secretarial skills such as operating fax machines, copy machines, computers, and receptionist duties including phone and in-person inquiries. A knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite along with written and oral communication skills required. Experience with medical billing a plus.
IV) ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Must be able to operate equipment typical in classroom and office settings, including assembling and dissembling toys and equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and speaking with a variety of audiences including parents, professionals and community members. Must understand the federal and state statues and interpret rules and procedures. Should be organized and be able to work independently. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to fifty pounds, and be patient as well as agile in bending, walking other positions necessary for the care of children. Willingness and ability to travel in own vehicle throughout assigned service area.
