We are looking for a WordPress Developer to help grow our internal team and work with remote developers. We have a modern, open floor plan space Berkeley just blocks away from the Fourth Street Shopping District. Our industry focus is primarily in education and nonprofits. Key clients include UC Berkeley, UCSF, and Stanford. Our founders, designers, and project managers are all local community members and love living close to the office. The ideal candidate will be local and available to be in the office most days of the week.

About You:

You have a passion for creating high-quality user interfaces. You enjoy development at every level: high-level strategic planning, supporting project pitches, guiding a team of developers, and doing hands-on project work. You not only own your work, you own the development team’s work, and take pride in putting out an exceptional product. You have solid experience in building dynamic, responsive websites. You’re constantly learning and keeping up with the latest in web technologies.

About The Position:

Project6 is looking for a WordPress Developer to work with our team. This role is responsible for building out the front-end of websites but the ideal candidate will own the entire project. S/he will provide expertise, guidance, resource estimations, and direction to the technical build. The WordPress Developer will help evaluate business needs and take a role in estimating projects and recommending solutions for proposals. Applicants should have 5 or more years of experience with all aspects of front-end web development, working with project managers and engineering teams.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience with all aspects of front-end web development including coding in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP
• Expert knowledge of the theming layer of Wordpress
• Expert knowledge of Gutenberg Blocks
• Familiarity working with Grunt/Gulp
• Proficient in debugging front-end bugs
• Experience with source control systems such as GIT
• Knowledge of popular hosting companies such as Pantheon, WPEngine
• Knowledge of Tailwindcss, SASS, Vue.js
• Strong sense of ownership and pride in the products you build
• Expertise in responsive, device-agnostic development
• Bonus Points:
• Knowledge of Google Analytics/GTM
• Solid understanding of SEO best practices (RankMath)
• Experience with Hybrid Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with Asana task tracking

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $132,905.00 - $143,435.00 per year
