General Description of Position:
The Tool Kitter will be responsible evaluating, organizing and preparing tool kits for machining operations. Coordinate with outgoing and incoming shifts. Communicate and interact with work leaders, supervisors, operators, engineers, schedulers, and tool vendors.
Essential Functions:
- Use standard tools, gauges, and Zoller Smile 400 presetting machine as required to check and set tools
- Schedule and perform duties to stock, set, and improve Tooling preparation for CNC machining operations
- Send dull tooling out for re-grind
- Purchasing and setting tooling for assigned machining operations
- Maintain tooling records
- Maintain gauges assigned to machining operations and locations
- Work with programmers/operators to ensure tools and kits are set properly and on-time with minimal supervision Perform daily PM checks on tool setting equipment
- Support Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement initiatives and function as requested
- Recommend, and participate in environmental health and safety practices
- Categorize and store kits and fixtures for all jobs
- May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills
Requirements
Job Requirements::
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Flexibility to alter work schedule for timely completion of projects
- Prioritization of multiple projects to meet operational goals
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 lbs. without assistance and occasionally up to 50 lbs. following company safe lifting protocol
- Ability to pull, push, sit, reach, and stand for up to eight (8) hours per day.
- Ability to work in an environment with metal, dust, noise, oils and chemicals
- Strong project management skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic systems
