Job description:
Our Space Systems team is seeking a Data Insight Analyst. The selected candidate will support our Space Components division, and report through the Operations and Manufacturing Engineering organization.
As an analyst, you will be curious, detail-oriented, and ethically conscious. You seek to ask questions about manufacturing, business processes, and how we can use data to find optimized solutions. You are a strategic thinker that can translate manufacturing operations data to enable strategic business outcomes. You want to drive change for our people, are candid and collaborative in taking on our most difficult analytics projects as well as the process and culture changes that accompany them. You will collaborate across the Space Components division to uncover data-driven insights to solve business challenges and enable transformational change.
Core Responsibilities:
- Define, collect, and manipulate data sets to create structured hypotheses, identify patterns, and derive insights to drive decisions within manufacturing operations
- Develop and automate data and analytical solutions for ongoing organizational needs
- Create data visualizations using common visualization capabilities (Tableau)
- Collaborate with stakeholders, teammates, and business leaders in the Space Components division to identify challenges and empower organizations with clear data
- Communicate results to leadership audience to accurately describe problem statements and solution opportunities
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from STEM field with 3 years of relevant experience or master's degree in a related field with 1 year of relevant experience
o Degree type: Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or similar
o Willing to accept as little as 2 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree with demonstrated business impact
- Ability to extract and manipulate data from database (e.g. SQL)
- Basic demonstrated understanding of manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Takt Time, Labor rate, Yield rate
- Proficient in data visualization using Power BI, Tableau or similar visualization tool
- Experience collaborating on projects with multiple teams, managing relationships, and communicating findings to audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience interpreting manufacturing performance data and catalysing process change based on insights
- Ability to perform statistical process analysis and implement Statistical Process Control charts (SPC) to monitor manufacturing performance
- Experience extracting data from ERP/MES system and developing SQL queries to process large datasets
- Experience with U/X design principles
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $34.00 - $45.00 per hour
