What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser Operator position at ProMach?
Texwrap is seeking a Laser Operator/Programmer who can produce quality parts while utilizing programming software to make the best use of sheet materials. This person is responsible for handling materials, reading blueprints, meeting tolerances, and ensuring part accuracy.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Utilize Trumpf programming software to nest jobs, focusing on sheet utilization and quality of parts
- Verify material thickness as called out on material pick list
- Record heat numbers on job orders as required
- Check KERF settings and adjust as necessary to ensure part quality
- Capable of using measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints including material gauge and tolerances
- Review/follow any specific instructions on job order
- Perform first/last article quality check and sign routing per ISO guidelines and check for burrs
- Remove tabs and de-burr parts after cutting as necessary
- Make sure all jobs are recorded within MRP system and quantities are accurately counted
- Place parts neatly with job orders and deliver to next work center
- Clean/replace laser slats as necessary
- Dump dust containers and scrap bins as needed
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Follow all safety policies within the organization
- Regular attendance and daily punctuality are necessary for performing the job.
- Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma
- 1-year laser experience
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Detail and quality oriented
- Good attendance
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Professional communication, attitude and image
