Prometheus Federal Services (PFS), a trusted partner to federal health and social services agencies, is seeking a Physician Instructor who has significant experience providing clinical care to women in an outpatient setting. Building on this experience, the PI will lead training and instruction sessions, leading to improved access to care for women veterans. This is a part-time role.
Scope
PFS is seeking an experienced Physician Instructor to lead training and instruction on women’s health topics, improving familiarity, knowledge and skills of rural primary care providers and nurses.
- Lead and facilitate a training program on women’s health topics for VHA clinical primary care providers and nurses at rural Community Based Outpatient Clinics
- Encourage interprofessional dialogue, team learning and interaction through case discussions and patient scenarios
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead group training and case reviews on women’s health topics, address gaps in knowledge and skills
- Help participants identify gaps/issues in the care of women Veterans
- Provide instruction for hands-on simulation activities focused on breast and pelvic exam techniques
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
- Current, active medical license in any state
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing clinical care to women in an outpatient setting
- Minimum of one (1) year experience serving as an educator of healthcare professionals to include direct instruction in a small group or large group setting
- Completed an ACGME-accredited residency training program in family medicine, internal medicine, or obstetrics/ gynecology
- Clinical care experience must include but is not limited to, in-office breast and pelvic exams, abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pain care, pre- and post-menopausal care, family planning and contraceptive management, interpersonal violence, and care across the lifespan.
- Veteran-specific health care experience is preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen or provide evidence of eligibility to work in the U.S. including an e-verify report
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship indefinitely
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust if required
