Research Project Coordinator
Job Description:
PFS is seeking a Research Project Coordinator to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client in the Washington, DC Metro Area (i.e., the DMV). The position will support the management and execution of the client’s portfolio of psychological health research projects by providing both project coordination and high-level research support (secondary research). The candidate will work with Psychology subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide project planning and execution management support to various psychological health research projects and pilot programs. The candidate will monitor the status of various projects and keep “dashboards” current with key performance indicators. The candidate will also be asked to support data collection, analysis, and reporting as part of integrated teams including senior Psychologists and data specialists. This is a highly collaborative position, and one that occasionally requires quick responses to external requests for information. Impeccable organization skills are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide project planning, coordination, and execution support to psychological health research projects.
- Support pilot projects by scheduling meetings, tracking meeting attendance, and working with stakeholders to develop project plans; and supporting execution of those plans.
- Prepare and maintain project tracking documents and spreadsheets, including keeping the project dashboard current
- Track research project milestones and deliverables
- Ensure the accuracy and currency of all research project summaries
- Assist the client in monitoring the status of “Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC)” projects, and provide status updates as requested
- Serve as the primary contact responsible for coordinating information collections that require either internal or public licensing (following either DoD Report Control Symbol (RCS) or Office of Management & Budget (OMB) policy)
- Contribute to research efforts that may require website support, metric reporting, literature searches, article screening, data extraction, and publication preparation
- Support efforts that could include assisting with protocol development and procedures associated with Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulatory approval and compliance.
- Review documents and assist with preparation of reports in response to requests for information
- Serve as the Research Team primary POC for Records Management; relaying procedural updates and information to team and complete onboarding and off-boarding RM documents.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in research or social sciences or public health with at least 3 years’ relevant professional experience
- Superior organizational and interpersonal skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Prior project coordination experience (preferably in a research setting)
- Prior experience working in a multi-tasking environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Mastery of the MS Office suite of applications, specifically, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of research methods, study design, and basic statistics; with an interest to grow.
Preferred Experience (Not an absolute requirement):
- Previous experience coordinating and supporting research projects in a DoD setting.
