The successful candidate will provide expert support, analysis and research into exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter. Serves as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Expertise is in a particular area of Information Technology (e.g., Cybersecurity (C2C), Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, Communications and Network Systems Management), or a specific functional area (e.g., finance, logistics, and operations research).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise in network design, integration, test, security, and implementation of Network Services for DISA DoDNet.
- Provide expert knowledge of network engineering and operations, large scale enterprise network solution implementation and transition to Network Operations, as well as test and evaluation activities. Perform highly technical maintenance involving network devices routers, switches, security solutions, and WANX.
- Participate in technical development of staff.
- Oversee the management of 5 direct reports.
- Propose new solutions to Network Domain Architects to define and/or continuously improve:
- Direct STIG compliant configuration baselines, versioning, and compliance tracking
o Evaluate the effectiveness of Automation and best practice insertion opportunities
o Oversee development of SOPs/TTPs
o Continuous Service Improvements (CSI)
o System performance tuning and enhancements
o Create and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans (EIP) - Evaluate network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements.
- Provide expert knowledge of defense-in-depth standards, Network and Security architecture, network topology, IT device integrity, and common security elements.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance activities with the appropriate Delivery Operations Managers, NOC Lead, Release Management team and other key stakeholders.
- Serve as the senior Tier III escalation support engineer for Incident Management activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documents, analyses, and reports.
- Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management activities.
- Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and mission-focused environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA/MS in a technical or managerial discipline with 10 years of experience relevant to the position responsibilities and ITILv3 Master professional certification. In addition, demonstrated operational experience, and knowledge of DoD environments is required.
- Must have one of the following certifications: IAT Level II - CASP CE, IAT Level II - CCNA-Security, IAT Level II - CCNP Security, IAT Level II - CCSP, IAT Level II - CISA, IAT Level II - CISSP (or Associate), IAT Level II - CND, IAT Level II - CySA , IAT Level II - GCED, IAT Level II - GCIH, IAT Level II - GICSP, IAT Level II - GSEC, IAT Level II - Security CE, IAT Level II - SSCP
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
- Top Secret security clearance is required
