The Promontory Club is looking to fulfill a vacancy for a Food and Beverage Shed Server – Seasonal.

The Shed personifies the Promontory mission of creating a place for busy, successful people who cherish family time to gather and spend time as a family, and relax with all the amenities a modern multi-generational family love.

Our Servers meet the Member's food and beverage needs in a friendly and professional manner that is consistent with the highest standards of Promontory Club restaurants.  Swing shifts range between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Check Member(s) & their guests in.
  • Greet the Member(s) & their guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Engage Members in such a way that you develop relationships with them.
  • Make The Shed feel like our members “home away from home.”
  • Take the Member's food and beverage order, making suggestions and explaining choices as needed.
  • Inform the group of our specials and soups of the day and offer suggestions on what to eat.
  • Communicate any special requests or other important details that the members have informed you of.
  • Deliver exceptional service.
  • Deliver prepared food and beverage to the guest's table, ensuring satisfaction with quality of the meal.
  • Prepare and present the check, performing necessary cashier service to process the payment.
  • Buss tables, sweep under tables, wipe down chairs, maintain cleanliness and neatness of the entire restaurant area (including floors, windows and countertops) during and after the meal.
  • Make espressos and smoothies of the members choice.
  • Complete assigned side work prior to starting or ending a shift (see checklists).
  • Assist with cleanliness, upkeep & maintenance, as needed, of amphitheater, movie theatre, bowling, game, and court area.
  • Be willing to assist with events, as needed.
  • Be a reliable person that can successfully handle all positions The Shed restaurant demands of its team players.
  • Always have a positive attitude and be team-oriented.  WE WORK AS ONE TEAM.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned or as required to ensure that the Members have a positive and above satisfactory dining experience.

 

Qualifications


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, (1) one year of previous experience working as a server in a restaurant environment preferred; must have or be able to acquire a State of Utah food handler's certification within two weeks of employment; must have a recognized alcohol server training card by the Utah Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control (UDABC); must be at least 21 years of age if serving alcoholic beverages (UDABC).

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: (1) one year of previous serving experience preferred; must have strong communication and organization skills; must have a high attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment all while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON JOB: Abide by Promontory policies and procedures and submit ideas for possible revision; work independently with little supervision; courteous and helpful with Promontory Club Members and employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be willing to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends when needed; must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time; ability to lift 25lbs regularly and the ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Wages start at $11.00/hr tips and will be commensurate with experience upon employment.
