Description

Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine animals.

As part of our commitment to providing an exceptional experience for our guests, we operate a vibrant cafe offering a variety of food and beverage options.

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-oriented individuals to join our cafe staff team. As a member of our cafe staff, you will play a vital role in creating a positive dining experience for our guests while adhering to food safety standards and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities :

• Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Operate POS registers and handle transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including cleaning tables, countertops, and equipment.
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Assist with restocking inventory and supplies as needed.
• Provide assistance to guests with menu selection and dietary restrictions.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations.
• Requirements :
• Previous experience in a food service or customer service role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and / or Experience :

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to follow directions.
• Must be a phenomenal team player.
• Must have impeccable integrity for the business, the community, and the Proof of the Pudding Team.
• ServSafe Certified preferred.

Specialized Qualifications :

• Attention to detail to ensure all ordered items are correct and following company policies, including health guidelines.
• Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to provide excellent service to our customers.
• Punctual and consistent work ethic.
• Effective communication skills with both team members and guests.
• Live within 25 miles of Clearwater, FL campus preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment for this position will be mainly within the cafe area and kitchen. This position may work with kitchen equipment including food warmers, heat lamps, coolers, and more.

Uniform Requirements

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.

Physical Demands :

• Prolonged periods of moving through an event space, and traveling throughout the venue
• Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
• Must be able to lift up-to 30 pounds at times.
