What you'll do:
- Play an integral role in the development of the Proof platform, working with a small but powerful team of engineers. The work you do will directly impact the lives of tens of thousands of law firms, lawyers, paralegals, and individuals throughout the US, and eventually the world.
- Spearhead the architecture and enhancement of our frontend libraries by writing code primarily in TypeScript, utilizing modern React, and implementing advanced CSS-in-JS techniques.
- Identify new opportunities aligned with company goals, lead strategic frontend initiatives across teams and platforms, set long-term strategic direction, and develop roadmaps for critical frontend areas.
- Design innovative solutions for ambiguous problems with risk, leading to industry-leading outcomes, and make significant contributions to the success of business or engineering platforms across multiple areas.
- Proactively address issues and influence stakeholders for effective collaboration and delivery.
- Impact technical direction significantly, acting as a multiplier in your discipline.
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure scalability, performance, and alignment with standards and best practices.
- Mentor and coach other developers in modern development practices and technologies.
- Work in an agile programming environment.
- Work with the Product and Design team to define and improve user experience across the platform.
- Refactor the legacy codebase toward a modern component architecture.
- 8 years experience writing production-grade code in a modern programming language.
- Extensive experience with multiple component-based frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, Elm).
- Extensive experience working with visual design specifications and implementing cross-platform, performant, and maintainable implementations.
- Experience working with mobile development and/or responsive design.
- Proven understanding of REST APIs and GraphQL.
- Knowledge to evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, space, and time.
- Experience writing automated software tests (e.g., unit tests, integration tests) using tools such as Jest, Mocha, JUnit, or Cypress.
- You're excited to learn new technologies, languages, tools, and best practices.
- You're a proactive communicator; you communicate concerns and blockers early.
