Graphic Designer Job Overview:

Reporting into the Corporate Marketing & Communications department, the Junior Graphic Designer is a function of the in-house creative team. The Junior Graphic Designer plays a critical role in showcasing PROS as an industry leader — with internal and external event development, go-to market campaigns, continual corporate brand development, and more. The position will have the opportunity to lead projects and initiatives with direction from the senior members of the team and to assist with project management. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who is committed to delivering top quality solutions that meet business objectives within agreed upon timelines.

The position is based in Houston, Texas.

A Day in the Life of the Graphic Designer -About the role:

  • Perform creative, visually appealing, engaging, and on-brand design work

  • Demonstrate skills in creative thinking, written and oral communication, and personal accountability

  • Effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities and meet deadlines

  • Support company initiatives in event design from theme development to final production

  • Design print and digital media content, including collateral, marketing promotional materials, social media content, web imagery, and presentations

  • Collaborate in brainstorm meetings to generate new ideas for communication across various platforms

  • Build and maintain relationships with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders throughout the entire design workflow

  • Contribute to brand development through typography, color, layout, and photography

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of visuals and constantly consider areas for improvement, even in templated assets

  • Stay current with design industry trends and guidelines to further differentiate PROS in the market

  • Proven track record in visual and creative design

  • A creative thinker with proven ideation and conceptual skills

  • Adaptable to new design challenges in an ever-changing industry

  • Detail-oriented and thorough; double checks work to reduce the number of revisions needed

  • Solid understanding of stakeholder deliverables and the ability to take responsibility for them

  • Always ready to roll up sleeves and jump in to capitalize on opportunities, solve challenges or resolve issues

  • Maintains project files in a highly organized manner

  • Brings a unique perspective on design and creative strategy and is willing to learn from the approaches and styles of others

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or equivalent

  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate or agency marketing environment in a visual design capacity

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and digital asset management systems a plus

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to take direction well

  • Enthusiastic attitude and strong work ethic

Bonus Points:

  • Knows how to use animation/motion to tell a story

  • Experience with project management
