The Legal Document Assistant plays an important role in working directly with clients. LDA’s as part of the ProSe team, the Legal Document Preparer performs a multitude of legal tasks such as, receiving and qualifying new and prospective clients, conducting legal research, drafting, organizing, and preparing documents for presentation and review with clients.

- Evaluate prospective client inquiries and phone calls, analyzing their case fit and making sure they feel seen and heard.
- Set appointments for potential clients that meet our criteria to keep ProSe Legal’s schedules organized and grow our caseload.
- Complete new client onboarding and maintain current client files through data entry and paperwork collection to ensure our cases are managed efficiently.
- Perform miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed, including transcription, research, spreadsheet management, and email writing to ensure operational efficiency.
- Obtain pertinent information from potential clients by asking them a series of questions courteously and professionally.
- Draft a wide array of legal documents including Petitions, Declarations, and Judicial Council Forms.
- Meet with clients to review, sign, and finalize their legal documents.
- Submit documents with different government entities including Superior Courts and County Recorders.
What we look for?
- Experience performing substantive legal work in several of the following areas of law: Estate Planning, Probate, Family Law, Guardianships, Business Formation, Deed Preparation, and/or Immigration.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience either in a law office or document preparation business.
- Paralegal Degree or Legal Document Preparer Registration
- Notary
- Comfortable in visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote ProSe Legal services
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Bilingual is a plus.
