Job Description
We are seeking an applicant to cross train on the general care side of our practice. The position would involve:
-working with our current opticians and technicians
- scheduling primary care appointments and specialty appointments
- performing preliminary testing on patients of all ages (children as young as 2)
-performing insertion and removal training with contact lenses
-optical work (frame styling, selling, dispensing and adjusting glasses)
-collecting payment, verifying vision insurances, submitting vision insurance and answering phone calls
-performing visual processing evaluations on patients (typically school age but can be performed on adults as well)
Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for an outgoing, hardworking and positive individual for this position. Ability to work as part of a team is crucial. This individual will work closely with the doctors, front office staff, therapists, patients and parents. Candidate must be highly reliable, motivated, able to take direction, understand the need for flexibility when working with children and individuals with special needs and must be a self-starter. In addition, this individual must be detail oriented, enjoy interacting with people, have great communication skills, have an energetic personality, and possess good organization skills. Some experience in optical industry is ideal, however, training will be provided to the right candidate.
Practice Details:
We are a family owned and operated practice in Prosper. We are unique in that we provide both routine eye care and specialized services. Our practice specializes in Vision Therapy, which involves diagnosing and treating visual conditions such as lazy eye, visual rehabilitation and vision related learning disorders. We have an in-house vision therapy clinic where we provide hands on treatment to patients of all ages. In addition, we provide general eye care that includes examinations, glasses, contacts and medical visits. We have a full optical and can edge lenses to make glasses on site.

Hours:
- Monday/Wednesday 8:15-5:00
- Tuesday/Thursday 9:15-6:00
- Fridays 8:15-12:30 (afternoon trainings will be scheduled as needed)
- NO WEEKENDS
This is a full-time position at our practice, however, it is NOT a full 40 hours per week due to our early closing on Fridays.
