Overview
ProSphere is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer with extensive IT experience in all aspects of Cyber Security with a vast array of IT systems involving end user as well as enterprise level networks, as well as in designing and implementing systems that meet agency Cyber Security policy and regulations. This is a full-time position, located in Washington, DC. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all operations and tasks are conducted and shall specifically be assisting in technical support to monitor, correlate, identify, mitigate, manage, track and support processes for security incidents.
- Providing expertise and recommendations to stakeholders to govern and use security software applications.
- Advise and evaluate usage of intrusion detection systems, two-factor authentication, web application firewalls, web filtering, encryption, etc.
- Participate and advise stakeholder teams on implementing activities to harden systems, middleware, and applications; and network devices.
- Advise on and mitigate security measures to protect the network against advanced malware, ransomware, advanced persistent threat (APT), data loss prevention (DLP).
- Implement IT security tools that protect information assets e.g., privilege management, security configuration baselines, security configuration compliance validation tools, etc
- Provide guidance on cloud security operations, including identity & access control, secure configuration management, network security, enforcement policy scripting, workload security, data security, and logging.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in Cyber Security methods and procedures
- Masters degree in STEM field such as Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or engineering discipline preferred (10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education).
- Hands on experience with 3 or more of the technologies: SPLUNK, Forescout, Tenable, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, CyberArk, and Contrast security.
- Must have experience with configuration management and updating status of tickets or projects. Experience with Service Now is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience doing Agile development.
- Experience with Cloud technologies and services
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework
- Extensive knowledge in apply cyber security techniques and methods
- Extensive knowledge in intrusion detection and web application penetration testing
- Ability to work overtime required on occasion
- Remote and on-call responsibilities may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Proof Point and/or ForcePoint Security Manager
- Experience utilizing web application penetration testing tools
- Experience with SailPoint
- Experience with XACTA and NIST 800-53 is a plus
- CISSP is a plus
