ProSync is looking for a Windows Systems Administrator support multiple platforms, both in lab environments and on operational systems to develop, build, install, configure, and maintain a stand-alone Government research and development laboratory and operational survey equipment. These systems comprise the network infrastructure, servers (both physical and virtual), and workstations needed to support mission requirements. Operating systems in use include several flavors of Linux and Windows. Hardware includes: Dell, HP and COLFAX servers, switches, network attached storage arrays; Symantec backup appliance; Cisco switches; FPGA’s, telecommunications equipment and custom built workstations.
Education:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required or
- Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
- Requires 8570 certifications: IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, or SSCP) or higher
- Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
- Manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
- Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
- Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Optimizes system operations and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning
- Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
- Provides in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
- Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs and loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
- Provides detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
- Supports the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware
- Directs and possess a working knowledge and understand of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Analyzes and resolves complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration
- Requires fifteen (15) years experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required.
Required Technical Skills
- Extensive experience with Linux workstations and servers
- Experience with Cisco networking components and technology
- Experience in planning, designing and implementing network architectures or major network architecture upgrades
- Experience installing, configuring, optimizing and securing network components
- Experience administering VMware products and Cisco IOS
- Experience supporting the overall day-to-day management of a lab network and in-depth troubleshooting of a lab network
- Experience in documenting processes and procedures to be used by network and system administrators, engineers and technical personnel
- Exhibited ability to build, configure, and maintain hardware components of laboratory or operational system
- Knowledge and experience of VMWare and virtual environments; proven ability to install and configure virtual servers and clients, using various operating systems, as mission needs dictate
- Knowledge of systems and network security, auditing, and user authentication
- Knowledge of and experience with telecommunications equipment
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience in developing and maintaining virtualized network infrastructure
- Experience with NetApp storage arrays and/or Dell PowerVault MD300 Storage devices
- Knowledge of and experience with telecommunications equipment
- Knowledge of SNMP, NETSEER, UAM, SEAR, Centrify, CASPORT, IAVA’s, CYBORGBUNNY and STE.STN requirements and remediation methodologies
- VMWare ESXi, vSshere, vCenter, vRealize, NSX Edge
- Working knowledge of NiagaraFiles and Web Service Instasllations
