Position Overview
This position will provide comprehensive financial planning and analysis support to Proterra’s VP, Finance, and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible for completing complex, data-driven financial analysis to develop and drive business strategy, results, reporting, and forecasting. This position will work across departments and business units to provide a wide range of financial and decision support to the business and finance leaders, including the preparation and maintenance of short and long-term plans, evaluation of new corporate initiatives, merger and acquisition activities, ad hoc projects and a significant amount of investor relations support.
About the Role – You will:
· Support of the planning process, inclusive of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term plans.
· Work with corporate functional managers to develop and build plans.
· Prepare and report management presentations monthly and quarterly on actual results and financial plans.
· Preparation of monthly reporting packages and analyzing financial results. Report actual results versus plan, including variance analysis insights.
· Maintain and develop metrics for analyzing business performance; develop a reporting mechanism to communicate trends to management.
· Maintain and improve planning tools and processes including implementing a budgeting/forecasting system.
· Analysis and tracking of strategic initiatives, including the development of supporting models and expected outcomes.
· Supporting investor relations activities from a financial modeling and business expertise perspective.
· Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

· This position will be part of the Finance and Accounting team that supports Proterra’s Operations Manufacturing and Engineering operations.
· You will report to the Manufacturing Operations Controller and collaborate with other Finance and Accounting team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA, and manufacturing facilities in Greer and Greenville, SC.

Your Experience Includes:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment
· 3-5 years of progressive relevant experience
· Cost accounting experience is strongly preferred
· Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint as well as exceptional presentation abilities
· Experience in Oracle and Tableau preferred
· Strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Strong business partnering skills and holistic view of business strategy, processes, and financial objectives
· Experience with financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis across the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
· Demonstrated problems solving ability with emphasis on process improvements
