Overview Role of a Controller:
-
Supports the Director of Finance with oversight of the Accounting Department.

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements controls to minimize risk.

Guides financial decisions, protects assets, and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Produces annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

Works with external auditors and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.

Ten or more years of related experience.

Previous experience as Assistant Controller, preferably in a mid-sized (300 employees) healthcare service company.

Proficient in accounting software, namely QuickBooks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
