A Day in the Life:
A successful intern will demonstrate a strong ability to organize data, synthesize written information, and creatively collaborate with their colleagues throughout the process of a worker’s compensation, property & casualty claim, etc. The Claims Intern must be prepared to integrate information from various portals and spreadsheets. They must have the aptitude and patience to sift through lots of data with great detail. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel are required. The Claims Intern must also be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
The Agency Intern position reports to the Vice-President of Claims. They will also be paired with appropriate mentors during their internship for projects.
Qualifications
What You will Need to Do This Job:
- Candidates must be a college undergraduate student working towards a Bachelors’ degree in one of the preferred majors such as a data management, economics, business, sales, etc.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Focused and able to work without being distracted.
- Experienced and proficient in using Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Aptitude with computer systems and learning new systems and procedures.
- Persistence and creativity in problem solving; solid analytical skills.
- Ability to use and understand technology including computers, smart phones, tablets and various software programs and apps.
- A valid driver’s license.
- This position generally works in an office environment but is occasionally exposed to outdoor
- conditions or other locations. Long periods of sitting, standing and computer work are required.
- The ability to speak, hear, and type is also required. You will regularly lift 20 pounds or less.
- This position is required to perform other duties as assigned by management.
